"They both deserve it." The reply was instant. He wanted to kill them both. The demon, for doing exactly what had pissed him off about this place upon entry, and the vampire for...whatever the fuck it was she was doing with those cards and that basket. The way that he often reacted when he happened to be around other demons and such was a lot better than it used to be; he used to get really wound tight, he'd jump at every corner, glare at every passing figure. Now he was better at it. He could blame Ruby's company on that factor, he supposed, but the improvement still didn't change him much on the scale of who he was and what he was raised into. Accepting Ruby had been one thing. Embracing everything else about this city had always been another thing entirely.
"If I ha to pick one, I'd go with the vampire," he informed her, leaning back against the bar a bit. "Potentially got a baby in that basket and I'm not real interested in seeing that kid get eaten or...or whatever it is that they're planning on doing with it."
