Lavender was a mix of excitement and nerves. She couldn’t believe that it was all coming together, that soon she would be running her own shop! It almost felt surreal, but it was really happening. She had the legal documents to prove the lease on a perfect location, and she had already made contact with several suppliers to get stock.
She stood in the lobby waiting for Anya, her wand tucked behind her ear, and a thick folder of all her store related documents in hand. Merlin, I’m becoming a Luna-Hermione hybrid! For a moment Lavender panicked. What was she doing? She was crazy, thinking she could open a store, what was she...no. She quickly pushed all those thoughts aside, there would be a time for a not-so-midlife-midlife-crisis later, and right now she had priorities. Like discussing store matters with Anya, including the basics, and naturally pay.
Most importantly she needed to get a name for her store. She had thought of ‘Lavender’s Magic Shop,’ but that felt really cheesy, and in some ways...just wrong. Maybe Anya would have an idea, she did have experience in a magic shop after all.
This made her miss Hunter even more. He would have been so excited over this, if of course he had gotten over her not being dead anymore. That was a real dampener on any relationship. Actually it had flat out ruined their relationship, if that’s what it could have been called, everything had been so awkward after that. Note to self Lavender, next time you fall for a guy, don’t ask him to be there when you’re about to die.
Lavender quickly pushed all thoughts of Hunter aside, again there would be time for that and the rest the not-so-midlife-midlife-crisis, later. She was about to become a business woman, and business woman did not mix business and pleasure (right?). From now on it would be about the business...
“Maybe I’m in over my head,” Lavender muttered under her breath.
