The smell of the undead filled his nostrils, stirring up his burning rage and drawing his attention towards the source of that stench of undeath. It had to nerve to snarl at him, as if that would scare him away or frighten him. It did neither. What it did was to unraveling the control that Jared had on himself; bring that beast that lingered just beneath the surface back into place. A low growl escaped him as he observed the scene unfolding before him. He watched the youth taunting the trio of moronic vampires with a trinket of a golden chain, which they appeared quite eager to get back into their possession. This made Jared all the eager to keep it from them.
As he watched, his face started to change, the hue became more a sickly yellow and more translucent while his eyes altered to an unearthly silver. This was all unseen by the monsters absorbed by Bart’s taunts, they had no idea what was coming from behind. When the leader advanced towards the young man, Jared used this as his cue to attack. He latched out, throwing the nearest one into a brick wall with enough force to leave a mark in the masonry. With that one recovering from his painful encounter with a wall, he turned his attention to the other. The vampire attacked him. It struck Jared with its fists in the jaw, twisting the infected monstrosity’s head to the side but as it drew to hit him again Jared stopped his fist with his hand. He painfully and quickly twisted the arm, snapping the large bone at the elbow. The vampire didn’t even have time to scream before Jared sunk his sharp teeth into its throat, ripping open the undead veins to release that liquid he so needed for nourishment.
