Sam nodded with an amused air of agreement. "Definitely. That is definitely a deal." He doubted that his nerves were going to likely calm themselves anytime soon, but knowing that she felt the same way did actually help a bit. They knew each other very well, both he and Faith. They often spent time joking around, hanging out, working together. This was new territory that they were both walking into and, for all the comfort that they had with each other on a normal basis, Sam realized that this new ground that they were treading on was going to take quite a bit of getting used to. He was okay with the process, too, even if it did annoy him. Acting like a little kid wasn't exactly something that he enjoyed doing. If he wanted that, he'd go back and find one of those magical candy bars that had taken on the city before.
Despite the awkward feelings, Sam couldn't fight that smile that found him when she gave him that quick kiss on the mouth. Yeah, things were definitely changing. But wasn't this all for the better anyway?
"My head is fine," Sam said, tapping at the side of his face with a hand. "All healed up and good to go. So I'm pretty good." Sam stepped into the room and folded his arms over his chest, shooting Faith a concerned look of his own. "What about you? I'm not just talking about physically either. The entire being close to death thing was kind of a bitch on all that stuff that's on the inside too."
