He ignored the hand in front of his face and stepped away, quietly surveying the furnaces. There didn't appear to be an access point. Not one that they could personally dig their way through without being burned in the process. "I'm fine," Sam said, repeating the response that she had given him. He had endured worse. The pain in the side of his skull actually wouldn't have been all that worrying if he wasn't busy getting so dizzy from it all.
Sam was being very short with her and he really did want to apologize for it. But if he tried to focus on her for too long, he'd lose sight of the task at hand. Which was finding a way out. They couldn't worry about his head or Faith's shoulder until they managed to either kick the door down or find an alternate exit.
"You see anything?" He was back at the door again, examining it from every angle. Stay calm. Hand sliding against the surface, he closed his eyes and tried to push it back again.

Hand smoothing down to the handle, Sam gripped at it and made another attempt. It felt like trying to push an elephant. The damn thing wasn't budging at all.
