Out of all the sense that Sam managed to regain back first, it was his hearing. He heard Faith, distantly calling his name. Begging him to wake up. Something inside of him stirred and Sam tried to fight against the wave of black that threatened to take him over again. There was a pounding sensation hitting the side of his skull, bringing forth a sense of pain that Sam had not believed he would have gotten just by going out to pick something up with Faith. It would have been easier to just let it take him over. To fall back into the state of unconsciousness that he had been in before. Instead, Sam feebly opened his eyes and looked up at the figure crouched over him.
Faith. God, when he'd thought that he wanted her to be the last thing that he saw when he went to sleep and the first thing that he saw when he woke up, this sure wasn't what he had in mind.
Turning his head, pulling up the half of his face that hadn't been pressed against the floor, Sam revealed that the right side was caked with blood. There was a tiny gash breaking against his skin, right from the side of his skull where his head had hit the ground earlier. "Faith...?" He groaned and slowly attempted to sit upright, only to slump back over again. He was dizzy.
He felt the heat. It was a lot warmer, wherever they were. Different from outside, where it had been nice and cool. "What's...where are we?" He mumbled, trying to sit upright again. This time he was a bit more successful. Was she okay? What was going on? He wasn't following very well at all.
