Jack didn't try to escape her locked gaze on him, didn't evade or flinch this time. He simply watched her calmly. Faith did the explaining for him and he was grateful. He'd rather avoid getting more of her bitterness if possible. He had plenty of that already thanks. Looking towards the others as Jacen moved into the kitchen for coffee, and Spike mentioned rest. Probably a good plan considering how he found her.
Frowning as he heard Buffy's voice, she really had alot to learn about people. About doing the hero thing. The Buffy he knew wouldn't just give up, wouldn't even have thought those things. But she was different. She was a new Buffy and he would just have to accept it, and show her they weren't a lost cause. "We may not have Angel, but we haven't lost. Faith's right. We won't just give up either. When you give up, that's when you lose." His arms folded as he listened to them, and just tried to soak everything in until the group started to become less-group like.
