Well she hadn't gone for the second punch. So as far as Faith could tell things were getting slightly better. And from Buffy's words, Faith managed to nod, figuring out just when the other Slayer was from. About half way through her prison stint she guessed, after the fight with Glory.
"You were fighting hellgod bitch," she spoke aloud, wanting to check her theory. "And in my timeline you did win. You died, for a while, before Willow used magic to bring you back. Then about two years later we met up again in Sunnydale, that was '03." She smirked, just slightly. "Punched me in the face that time too."
She glanced at the vampire standing nearby. "Spike got a soul sometime in between those two events. Hardly willy nilly from the way he tells it, though I sometimes think he's exaggerating to sound more impressive." She flashed him a quick friendly grin before becoming serious again.
"You'll be stopped B, but not by us. We didn't bring you here, and we can't send you back. Only the PTB can do that. Everyone here, once they enter the city, they're trapped here. Plus, also, can I just say hey?!" She pouted slightly, pretending to be offended. "This city is not lost. Not yet anyway. Not doing too shabby a job here keeping things not Apocalypsey yet." She paused before correcting herself. "Ok, technically there was that one time with the Four Horsemen, but I technically died at the beginning of that one so I claim no responsibility."
She was getting off the point and she knew it, even babbling which given the rapid bruising coming up on her jaw was probably a bad thing. So she took a breath and focused on what mattered.
"Losing Angel was hard," she said quietly, still missing him even after all these months. "And it nearly destroyed us, but we made it through. And we're doing ok. More or less. And if you're tired, you'd be welcome to stay here, we got more than enough room."
She didn't just mean for the night and she hoped Buffy got that. Even with their issues there was no way she ever wanted Buffy out on her own. Any... chain of command issues could be dealt with later. Silently she groaned as she realized she'd have to have one hell of a word with Kennedy. And just then she did a double take as her eyes went wide.
"Holy crap, this means I'm older than you now. Huh."
