The look on Sam's face freaked her out, almost scared her even. Faith couldn't help but feel this whole situation had gotten dangerously out of control. The bare teeth, the grabbing by the collar. That angry look in his eyes. She could almost forget this was a demon bar with her best friend, the man she loved, and believe she was back in Boston, among the mob men she'd grown up with. She actually took a step back, almost shaken by the whole thing.
It was a confession, even if every instinct she had said something was wrong. But the guy had said he'd done it. Hell, she'd walked in on him killing a guy. So she nodded slightly to Sam, her gaze fixed on he demon who met her look angrily.
"Why?" There was a look of something almost like betrayal in his eyes as Faith frowned.
"Why what?"
The demon merely shook his head, resigned to his fate it seemed.
