==========
Clark had just walked out of the internet cafe and glanced around. No.. the streets were still a bit busy for him to see if he could fly up into the clouds. That could attract attention and get him on the news. Last thing he wanted was another Linda Lake incident. Destroying that Legion ring wasn't an easy choice. But since he did do that, there was probably no way to reverse things if they got out of hand. Not until he asked all the magic users to band together.. but he preferred to avoid magic if he could.
So he headed for an alley, going between a couple buildings in the business district, and found himself in the rear parking lot. It was pretty deserted now. An x-ray scan had proved that well enough. "Okay... here goes." He crouched down then. Time seemed to stop right now, and what could only be described as invisible rings of force gathered around his feet. He pushed up.. and headed up, and it seemed like a tremendous leap upward. Remembering Batman's advice, as well as drawing upon his earlier memories of this city, and he focused on going higher.
Suddenly, he was not about to descending onto the roof of the skyscraper like he usually did after a super jump. No, he stopped his downward trek for a brief second, and was now continuing to go up, soaring farther up into the night sky.. and then stopped after a few minutes. He hovered near the clouds and smiled. It would appear that he had this particular ability back. But then, perhaps he'd never lost it. Only forgotten. And now, there was once again no limitation. Pleased at this development, he took off in a blur, a barely visible streak of red and blue.
Once he'd reached his destination, he stopped and found himself in front of the Bradbury building, floating close to a window on the tenth floor. It was just as good a spot as any. He recognized that area. He pushed the window up, climbed in, then shut it behind him. He walked into the room and walked around a bit. He wondered if anyone else was here. Bart. Batman. Static. Oracle. Anyone, really. He decided to call out anyway, just in case. "Hello, anybody here? I'm back now..."
