She seemed so sure of herself. Maybe she wasn't worried after all. He was hoping, deep down, that she was. It would be better if she was. Sam looked her over quietly, not even noticing the sudden change in the bar, his thoughts solely on her for the time being. "I hope you're right," he said softly, "I really, really do." They were already losing everything else. Everything that he cared about, everything that mattered to him. It was all being dragged away.
He continued to eye her for a long moment. Then, with a resigned look, Sam turned to face the swarm of faces that were looking off at them. Sighing, he stepped forward and stretched an arm out, pointing to the demon in the corner that he'd told Ruby about earlier.
"You. Outside." In the quiet of the room, several heads turned to look at the demon. Demon seemed amused. That wasn't very surprising at all. "Now," Sam pressed. The demon chuckled, waved a hand in the air, and several hesitant figures stepped up from their tables. Always with the little sidekicks. Just like Sam had figured from the start. He straightened up a little. It had been a good while since he had gotten into a fight just because. Sam had never been more excited to get out of that break that he and Ruby had agreed to than he was now.
He needed to vent. There were a few things on his chest that he didn't want to talk about and would gladly release in the form of violence. That was probably scary to other people, but to him, after being with Ruby for so long? It was beginning to feel normal.
"Drag you out it is," Sam decided, looking at the faces that surrounded them. The nervous bartender could be seen ducking behind the bar, vanishing from sight. Probably trying to keep himself from getting hurt. The numb feeling that he had been carrying around since Heather's disappearance vanished. His anger, annoyance, desperation? It was beginning to show.
"Let's get started." He moved forward, ignoring the chortles of laughter from Leather Jacket Guy in the corner as he walked straight toward him. There was another brief moment of hesitation before one of his buddies jumped in front of him. Rearing back, Sam threw an arm out and slugged him across the side of his head.
