"Unless his buddies get the jump in," Sam muttered, picking up his drink. "Then there's conflict." Unlike Ruby, Sam wasn't going to take the overconfident route. He wasn't foolish enough to think that he'd be able to overpower the entire bar if they chose to retaliate against him, but he wasn't exactly crying his eyes out over the possibility of being taken down here tonight either. Whatever happened? It happened.
"Maybe he's not stepping in because he has no idea about what's really going on here," Sam stated calmly, looking to her. "He's obviously aware of us being around each other, doing stuff and all of that, but does he know what we're doing? Does Castiel know anything about what you think the next step for us is?" He was about one hundred percent certain that he had no idea at all. Was Ruby's life outside of the training and talk of demon powers anything like his own? Where he had to constantly sneak around and avoid being bluntly honest about what they did together?
