From the way it sounded it must have been something you could use to communicate with others. Perhaps it had other functions as well. Of course, Ella wouldn't know that until she was taught how to use one.
"Alright," she said, hands at her sides and resting upon the soft white fabric of her dress. Why could this otherworldly force have dropped her here in her old skirt and blouse?
