Annie was sure she was fading, she had to be didn't she? She was away from the house, her anchor to the real world and worse than that she didn't have George and Mitchell with her. Really she had nothing to cling to, nothing to keep her solid and real and the idea of going back to being invisible terrified her.
She hadn't even bothered to find anywhere to live because what was the point? She didn't eat or sleep, another house would just remind her of everything she couldn't do so instead she just wandered around the city. Sitting in the park all night and praying that Mitchell would show up and tell her everything was going to be okay, he always managed to reassure her even when everything was going to hell. Annie wasn't paying much attention to where she was going because it didn't really matter did it? Apart from the bit where she'd just tripped over someone's legs obviously.
"Oh god sorry!" she exclaimed, just managing to stop herself from falling. "I wasn't look where I was going, stuff on my mind, you know?"
