"That's the thing, neither do I," Cathy admitted sheepishly, smile softening at their puppy. For having never before the pleasure of owning a dog, she had instantly understood the meaning behind "man's best friend", as was apparent in the fact that Reb went to the LAWC with her every single day. She was hopelessly smitten. "He's a good guy, so why not? Except for when he steals my spot." She had to grin, though, looping her arms back around her fiance's neck.
"Which is not to say that I mind where I ended up," she amended, drawing herself to Lindsey and glancing quickly at Cerberus, as if to check for permission, before capturing his lips. Surprisingly, she was pleased to find the ability to kiss him properly and without interruption before answering the question verbally. It had certainly been a day, she couldn't hide that much.
"It was long," she told him honestly, withdrawing to meet his eyes, holding his gaze there, grateful as long as she could do so. "I missed you." It wasn't quite as simple as that, not entirely, but for now she was happy as long as she could be close to him. Waging war outside, be damned. "How was yours?"
