He still wasn't buying it. Reb was a puppy and since neither of them had been keeping up with the obedience training, he doubted behaving was high on the mutt's list of things to do. "Just keep telling yourself that, babe," he replied. "Someday it might be true but that's not right now."
Lindsey put the bowl of popcorn aside and shifted towards her. "I can do that," he murmured as he leaned in to kiss her.

He tried to ignore the sound, and was successful for a second, until another, shorter squeak! interrupted him again and he glanced over his shoulder to see Reb with his front paws over the edge of the couch, the duck in his mouth, ears perked.
