"You never know," Cathy stated in Reb's defense, reaching down to pat his head faithfully. "It's really a compliment, I suppose. He just wants to be with us." She was reaching now, trying to make a case for the mutt when the fact of the matter was simply that he had a little too much energy than he could deal with on his own. If she hadn't known better, she would have guessed that someone slipped the shepherd a shot or two of espresso.
