Castiel smiled, one of his rare and incredibly bright smiles, glad he'd had this conversation with Ben. He was a good kid, one who deserved a life free from demons and complications. But failing that, at least Ben was in a family like the Winchesters, a resemblance that was showing through strongly. Not just Dean's clear influence, but a healthy dose of Mary and John as well.
"I know I can count on you."
He wasn't just saying things because it was what he thought Ben wanted to hear, it wasn't his style. Angels weren't the type for false comforting. No, Castiel genuinely believed in Ben's ability to connect with Sam and remind him of what it meant to be human, to be part of a family. He just prayed it would be enough.
