She watched him closely, or as closely as she could while keeping herself from staring at him like some kind of rabid animal. She was so on edge as she just waited for him to say or do something in response, other than the initial shock of finding out just why it was she'd asked him to come over. She did have the ability to predict certain things about him, but no matter what was going on between the two of them, something like this was just hard to make assumptions about. No matter what, he was still a person who was becoming a father long before he was ready. She could never have been completely sure how he would handle all of this.
He didn't look particularly unhappy, and Heather was willing to take that as a good thing. He looked almost...well, she wasn't quite sure, but he hadn't reacted badly, and that was what she knew to be a fact. It was certainly better than a few of the other alternatives.
"I figured it was a good idea," she replied quietly. "Just...something you would've wanted to be here for."
