"One of the Von Trapp kids," Cathy clarified, waving a hand. "There was some skipping, I'll admit it." She smiled to herself, head shaking slightly. "It was the only thing I was really good at, growing up. I wasn't a bad student, but nobody ever picked up a paper I wrote and commented on it or anything, not like the support I got after a show."
She frowned, a pang in her heart when she contemplated the recent lack of pursuit of craft. "I didn't think I'd have any trouble getting jobs. I mean, I've been too busy to miss it lately, between the Welcome Center and The Lux, but I think...maybe, it wouldn't hurt to try to get to an audition every now and then." In a way, despite all she had been through with the theatre, she felt like she owed it to herself.
Her demeanor brightened when she located the piece of music she had been searching for, wrestling to pull it from the very back of the drawer and brandishing Duke Ellington's Hit Me With a Hot Note. "Yes!" Ala Vanna White, she presented it to Lindsey. "I've always wanted to sing this song. On a piano."
