She rolled her eyes, though she was still chuckling. "Yeah, real lucky."
The first drawer slid shut, the second opening with some difficulty. Persistence won out in the end, and blatantly pleased with herself, she dug back in to the search. And pausing, turning back to Lindsey with the addition to his statement. It seemed personal, to her, the way he spoke of the man named Ford whom had helped him find a gift. "It sounds corny to say," she replied thoughtfully, tapping the top of the filing cabinet lightly. "But they're always the best kinds, aren't they? The ones who choose to share this music thing with us?"
She nodded, returning to her task, flipping through labels and tabs until coming to the letter 'H'. "Something from both, I think." Squinting, she studied something, pulled a sheet of music, sighed in disappointment, and put it back.
"Me?" She took a deep breath in, eyebrows rising as she thought back. "Let me think...My mom started taking me to ballet classes when I was three. I always loved to sing, and I took every chance I got to be in plays throughout school." A grin. "I think my first musical was in seventh grade. I was twelve, and our community theatre was producing The Sound of Music. I played Louisa."
