The glare did nothing to her. All it did was make force her to stick her tongue out at him and then do a duck of her on just in case he reached out to hit her for it. She was used to this game and she was glad to have avoided him until she slipped into the booth across from him.
"He's been quiet lately hasn't he?" she asked about the Joker. She didn't give the menu more than a quick look. A cheese burger and chilli fries were all she wanted. And maybe another diet coke. "Do you think he even knows she's here to try anything? And is her knowing gonna do anything to keep her safe? I mean, I know and I still wouldn't be safe if he got me."
Max canted her head a bit and screwed up her face. "Have you walked to Wayne about it? He'll be completely pissed, won't he? In the bad, scary way. 'Cause you and Cass are living with him, and anyone with half a brain is going to figure out... y'know. I did." Of course, Max had more than half a brain.
