WHO: Castiel and Ruby
WHAT: Tempting him or distracting her?
WHEN: After her graffiti- slightly backdated
WHERE: Her place
RATING: High ish, rated for sex!
STATUS: COMPLETE
The truth was Castiel was concerned. He'd been prepared for something like this for a long time, longer than he suspected Ruby knew. Despite everything he'd remained consistently aware of what she was and all the potential implications that had. It didn't mean he loved her any less, but the painful truth was he knew one day he might have to really stop her. It all meant that things had to be handled delicately.
When Heather had been around things had in many ways been easier. As much as Ruby didn't like the girl, and as much as Castiel himself had suspected that she hadn't been right for Sam as a partner, having her around had given him something else in his life, something the angel thought he needed. Now, with her gone, Ruby had stepped up her campaign to get him solely focused on her and the training, which tilted this already delicate balance on its axis. For the first time in a long time, Castiel found himself needing some sort of guidance, and he inwardly debated a moment if he should consult with Eve or Bartleby, the closest he had to equals, friends and confidantes here.
But that would be later. For now, he'd decided to go with his immediate feelings and go and be 'tempted' by Ruby, and in doing so hopefully distract her somewhat and allow Sam Winchester a moment's peace.
Ruby didn't like it. She knew at the end of it, Castiel was an Angel, and she knew all that came with that. One day he would try to stop her going too far with Sam. She knew how heaven would feel about her plans for him but they didn't understand. None of them could. None of them ever would. Sam Winchester was the only chance for everything to change for the better. And it was for Sam's own good. No one could see that.
She waited for him to arrive knowing he would simply slip into the room with her, it would take moments and he would be with her. And she'd make him forget about his worries over her and Sam.
Make him forget it all.
One moment it was only Ruby in the room, the next Castiel was leaning against the wall, watching his demon girlfriend for a moment before she realized he was there. Were he human he supposed he'd feel jealousy over her feelings for Sam, but being an angel made him see things differently. It wasn't that he couldn't feel emotions, on the contrary, he could feel them quite deeply. Instead he just had a different perspective than a human would. It had been quite true what he'd told Alastair. He had a similar focus on Dean, but wouldn't ever be found in his bed and he trusted that Ruby would not crawl into Sam's.
"Feeling restless?" He spoke out, letting his presence become known.
Truth was of course, Castiel was the only one keeping her from finding her way into Sam's bed. She'd done it before and would have again knowing it would speed up the process to what she needed him to do. But she, a demon, actually had found some kind of love and she wouldn't jepordise it unless she had to. Much as Alastair decided to mess with her and make her choose between Sam and Castiel. The Angel knew what her priority was, if not entirely why.
At the sound of his voice, she turned around, moving from the computer and wrapping her arms around his shoulders and pulling him into a deep kiss breaking away only to speak.
"You have no idea" she told him "But you...you're worried about me right. Me and Sam. Are you here to lecture me about giving him space or can I just have my wicked way with you"
Castiel returned the kiss, loosing himself in her for a moment. A part of him desperately wished that he could just let himself believe that everything could be that simple.
But it wasn't. It never was with them. He was an angel, she was a demon. And he reluctantly broke the kiss.
"I'm worried," he replied softly. "I don't want to lecture, but I do want to talk." he allowed himself a slight smirk. "Then wicked ways, I promise."
He reached over and gently kissed her forehead. "Talk to me Ruby."
Tell me I don't need to worry about this, not yet.
Ruby took a step back and kept her gaze on Castiel wondering just what she could say.
"Why do you have to worry about it at any point. Come on, you don't trust me? I thought I pretty much prooved myself you you. I need to get him ready, get him in control. Why is that a bad thing?"
There was so much she couldn't tell him, and truth be told she had hoped he hadn't noticed yet. Hoped he hadn't been paying attention what with everything else going on. But he was an Angel, all seeing and whatever.
It was entirely possible that she would need to start using hex bags again, maybe even get somewhere specific and use sigils or something. She knew he could stop her, knew he could kill her easily. But knew also he wouldn't want to, so much as she was wary of lying to him, she'd have to. For Sam's sake.
"I'd never do anything to hurt Sam" she said softly. That statement at least was entirely true.
The truth was Castiel saw more than she suspected and it broke his heart in many ways.
"I trust you."
And that much was the truth. He did still trust her, completely. He just also knew with a sickening clarity where this could go.
"We all need Sam ready Ruby. The difference is you don't seem to be able to accept that he is more than just a boy infected with a demon's blood. He needs a life Ruby, connections, something to keep him human. And I worry that you can't accept that side of him. The human side of him."
Ruby shook her head and sat on the bed, even pouting a little.
"I accept that. I do. I want him to be happy, and yes part of that is control over what he is. I'd love to see him with someone. But someone worthy of him, of what he... Someone that doesn't try to hold him back. Heather, she could never understand what he was. I see him as more than the boy with the demon blood. He knows that so why cant you? I need you to trust me, You say you do but then..."
She stood up, keeping the pouty expression and walking up to Castiel pulling him back toward her.
"Have I ever tried to keep him from the people that love him? His family? His friends? Any of them?. Is this something Alastair said, Did he get to you?"
Castiel had to smirk at the way she pouted at him. Were he a mortal man it would have been his undoing. As it was he slid his arms around her waist, tugging her close with a faint laugh.
"Be honest, will any woman be good enough for him in your eyes?"
The smirk faded slightly as he looked at her seriously.
"Do they know about the full extent of the training? And when was the last time you had a conversation with him that didn't end up as something to do with training, or Alastair, or his supposed Boy King status," the distaste for that term was clear in his eyes. Powers were one thing, even ones from demon blood. But the legend of the Boy King was a step too far for the angel. Into dangerous territory, a place he did not want to go, even in his mind.
Ruby's pout turned into somewhat of a glare at this, of course some women would be okay with her. As long as they understood her place in Sam's life. As long as they didn't let something as stupid as jealousy interfere with what he could become. With her.
And then the questions got worse. More pointed. More harsh.
"I have." she said coldly "He's more to me than that and I assumed you would know that. Thats not what I want to be seen as..."
She wouldn't ever tell him what she wanted from Sam, and what she was asking Sam to do for her. For himself.
"Now you promised me wickedness" she said interrupting the conversation with a kiss, she wasn't gonna talk about Sam anymore, she wasn't gonna answer the questions she knew Castiel had. That legend of the Boy King. The things she'd heard from the demons, from those torturing John Winchester. Those were her secrets to keep, just as she was sure Castiel had his own, and he knew that when he got into a relationship with her
Castiel sighed, inwardly frustrated even as he managed to keep the emotion from showing on his face. She wasn't ready. That was both a blessing and a curse. It delayed the inevitable, even for a little while longer and right now he'd take whatever he could get on that score.
For now he just kissed her back, tightening his hold on her as though afraid she was going to slip away from him at any moment.
"And wickedness you will have."
And now the demon was back in her comfort zone, doing what she did best according to most of those who wanted her dead. Devious little slut. She wasn't lying to him, she was...leaving a lot of information out, and they both knew it. But right now she wanted to ignore that, hoping he'd ignore his worries.
"You and me...we work don't we, in spite of all the reasons we really....really shouldn't"
Ruby's hands ran down Castiel's sides to his waist and moved them both toward the bed, wickedness would do him good, make him focus on something else, on her and nothing else for a while.
"So with that in mind, show me wickedness. Think you could tempt me?" she asked with her typical lazy smirk
"Yes, we work," Castiel shifted to start kissing down the side of her neck, not really sure any more if she was pulling them or he was pushing them back towards the bed. It wasn't going to make him forget the worries, not yet. But it was enough to soothe that little bit of male pride that wanted to remind her exactly why she was with him and not Sam Winchester.
He slid his arms around her waist, lifting her slightly to ease her onto the bed, lying her down and moving on top of her, still trailing kisses across her neck and shoulders.
"I know I can tempt you," he grinned briefly, a flash of humor that looked entirely inappropriate for an angel showing in his eyes.
That was a bold claim from an Angel to a Demon and Ruby wondered if he could do it. If he could tempt her as much as she knew she could tempt him with little more than a look. So she let him lay her down on the bed and kiss her, the inappropriateness of that grin amusing her more than a little. Perhaps more than it should but she knew what this was.
He wasn't jealous of Sam but he was proving a point to her.
"Maybe you can maybe you can't" she retorted smugly "I can be very dicerning you know. Really very"
Castiel just looked at her a moment before there was a flash of lightning from outside. A reminder of exactly how their relationship started all those months ago. He leaned down and kissed her passionately, his wings stretching out almost without him realizing it.
"And yet you still chose to be with me," his voice was little more than a low growl in her ear as he lifted her up slightly.
"You're wearing too much." Without waiting for her to respond he eased the shirt up over her head, bending his head down to kiss the skin as it was revealed.
The lightning. Of course the lightning
"I like to live dangerously, haven't you noticed" she told him her eyes closing momentarily at the growl and becoming the black of a demon. "So do you...thats why you chose to stay with me at first right...because its...so completely wrong"
She couldn't resist laughing darkly as he removed her top and she unhooked her bra as he held her up before laying back down. The game was his today. More or less
Castiel paused in the kissing to look her in the black eyes, with a faint smirk. "Does this feel wrong to you?"
She had a point though, that first time in the warehouse, the tension building until it exploded. Quite spectacularly in fact.
He tugged his own clothes off, going back to kissing her with that hunger he'd felt that first night as the wings reached out to the ceiling. Outside the wind picked up and just for once he didn't bother to rein it back in. He retained just enough control to ensure no damage would be done but beyond that why would he care? Let the world know what they were up to.
Sliding her jeans off he kept up the kissing, every touch showing how much he wanted her until she was naked beneath him and he shifted back up to look her in the eyes.
"Tempted yet?"
"Oh completely wrong" she admitted. "But I like it"
He wasn't holding back, and the truth was with his Boss still here, and with Alastair still about, yes he was tempting her, more than usual if that were possible, The wind, the lightning, good memories there for them. She smirked back at him once he had her naked and nodded.
"Just a little. But I can't cause fancy storms, Its an advantage you're completely using against me"
"You'd be disappointed if I didn't," he retorted with another smirk before he kissed her again as he slid inside her. It felt so very very wrong, but there was no chance of him giving this up any time soon. There was so many reasons why they shouldn't be doing this, but whenever they were together like this Castiel just didn't care. He wanted her and that was that.
"Only a little?" He almost growled playfully as he thrust harder into her. "That's just not good enough."
"Thats beside the point" Damn him he knew just how to push everything else from her mind, every single thing. She thrived on the wrongness. Loved him in spite of or possibly partly because of it, It gave her a thrill knowing what he was and what she was, and what that should, and for a time had meant.
"Only a little, You'll have to try...harder" she told him wrapping her arms around his neck as he pushed into her moving in time with him "I mean if you really want to impress me"
She waited, revelling in the moment wondering just how he'd do that
"It's completely the point," again he smirked playfully, getting his arms underneath her to lift her slightly, changing his angle as he sped up slightly.
"You know most men would get some sort of an inadequacy complex being with you," he retorted with a grin as he shifted to just the position he knew she liked, picking up the speed further as his hands continued to move and tease along her skin and he moved to kiss along her shoulder, biting just slightly.
"Lucky you're not most men then isn't it" she whispered back as he moved them into another position, teeth finding her shoulder, she couldn't help smiling at this figuring he wouldn't break the skin, that would end badly for all concerned..
"I just know what I like" Ruby pulled him into a kiss tightening her legs around him as they built into a stronger rythem. "And you figured that out quickly didn't you, as wrong as it is"
She waited for her moment, waited as he thrust into her, speeding up, loosing himself in her.
"Oh god" she hissed, the smirk only widening as she did.
He could have corrected her, saying he wasn't really a man at all, despite all evidence to the contrary. He could have retorted with any number of smartass remarks. But then she gave him that smirk while saying those words, the words that at one time had made him so furious to hear from her lips, but now seemed to drive him just over the edge.
A louder crash of lightning outside was the biggest acknowledgment that he'd heard her, along with tightening his grip on her and biting just that little bit harder, almost enough to bruise if not break the skin as his climax exploded.
It had the right effect. The perfectly right effect, as the lightning hit she joined him in the climax, almost pushing his head down on her shoulder needing the rush before pulling him back into a kiss.
"Every time" she told him smugly dropping back on the bed trying to regain her breath. The weather seemed to calm outdoors and Ruby's eyes finally shifted back to a human colour.
"Fine, you can tempt me, I think I must be a terribly bad influence on you"
And hopefully she'd made him forget, made him not think about his worries and his questions. It was just easier that way for now.
Castiel laughed as he half collapsed next to her. "You're a truly terrible influence on me. Horrific even."
He reached over to kiss her again before tugging her to lie in his arms, holding her closely. The worries were still there, the questions, the fears. Still swirling around his mind, but at least a little more bearable now. Slightly. There was still an irrational part of him afraid that if he let go he'd lose her and he tried to force it back as he kissed the top of her head.
"I love you you know," he murmured quietly.
Quiet, he was being too quiet. Saying he loved her, she knew that. He'd have to to still be with her in spite of everything, with everything he'd done for her. No, he had to love her. Had to. And she loved him too. Much to the disgust of all the demons that had come and gone from here.
In spite of her hopes and plans for Sam and whatever Castiel might know of them.
"I know you do. I know, and I do too. And being a horrific influence brightens my day"
She lay in his arms, right now she was his, completely his, but he knew as well as she did that this could go badly. That someday he might have to try and stop her. It was dumb because all she wanted for Sam was what was best for him. But making someone so opposed to hell see that? That wasn't gonna happen.
So for now she'd just let herself be happy with him.
