If it came down to it Tonks knew she could transfigure anything she needed. Granted anything she tried to transfigure at the moment was just as likely to transfigure right back. Her inheritance of skills only went so far when she was in this state.
"Thank you, Heather," she said again. Her hands still grazed nervously across her son's skin, calming the both of them. "You don't have to do anything. I can--" Tonks stopped and gestured down to her wand instead of continuing, finding that she was not calming down in the way she'd hoped she would.
She shook her head in answer to Heather's question. "He didn't know. We're both so careful normally, there's a potion to take and everything," she explained. "But the warning we --well, I always got was, 'it'll happen when you're not expecting it because there's no controlling the wolf'. He's always been afraid of hurting me and after tonight... it's going to be bad. This has never happened before."
