This time when she headed out, Zee made sure she was wearing proper clothing. She threw on jeans, a shirt, and a jacket along with her signature top hat which she cocked to the side. She stuck a stage wand in her back pocket. She didn't need it, but it made for a good show in the end and helped the general public rationalize how she was doing what she was doing. After making sure that she had indeed put the folding table and her deck of cards inside her hat, she left the Bradbury to go make some money. She was hoping for a little free time before the next disaster hit.
"Watch the card and watch it very carefully…"
Zee hadn't been outside for more than twenty minutes before a crowd formed around her. She shuffled the cards around on the small table in front of her, somehow watching both the ace of diamonds and the lucky audience member in front of her. "Ace of diamonds," she reminded the crowd. "That's what we're looking for. You saw my hands, you saw my sleeves. No cards but the three on the table. Place your bets now and-- hey!" She caught someone in the corner of her eyes, peering underneath the table. They wouldn't have found anything, but she stopped them anyway. She smiled and reached out towards them with one hand, miraculously producing daisy from behind their ear. "Souvenir for the skeptical gentleman to my right. No cheating. Now watch the cards…"
There was no wrongdoing on her part. It was the slight of hand that she'd learned at her father's knee. She was just extremely good at employing it. When her hands came out of their near blurred state she grinned up at the man who'd challenged her. "The card, sir?"
"There," he pointed to the right side of the table.
"Is that your final answer?" Zee asked, teeth showing in a grin.
"Yeah."
She laughed and laid her hand on the card, pausing for a dramatic moment before flipping it over with a quick flick of her wrist. "Too sorry, sir. Ace of spades. Today appears to not be your day, but I invite you, and everyone else, to continue trying to beat the Zatara shuffle." The only person who had ever beat her game was Selina Kyle and Zee felt it a good enough game to have named after herself.
"Bets please!" She shouted over the crowd, pocketing the money from the last round. "Next!"
