"That's terrible," Marie said, her voice sincere. Her expression had even softened somewhat, because of what he said. But in a way, she could relate to having parents who didn't exactly view you as human.
Now, it wasn't that they didn't love her; it was what she had become that they hated - or fears, as it were. And really, who could blame them for feeling that way? She'd put the first boy she'd very kissed in a coma for about a week.
"It's nice ta meet you too, Jared." She paused for a moment. "And it's Marie."
Marie, Maria; it was basically the same name with a different vowel attached.
"Oh thanks," Rogue said, while absentmindedly touching a part of the white streak. "It's actually kinda natural."
She had considered covering it up after it happened, but after a while it had sort of grown on her. In fact, she thought it was pretty cool now.
