At first, the humans – three men, one woman – appeared to be just early morning visitors to the boardwalk, dressed like joggers or people looking to catch beach time early. But as their target leaned against the railing, the people moved in without warning, not even addressing the mortal form of God before delivering several sharp, deliberate blows to the back of 'her' head and then supporting the body as it fell. As it did, a truck pulled as close to the boardwalk as possible.
It was the last figure to appear in the morning mist near the ocean that chanted strangely, the words quiet and nearly carried away on the wind, but the tenor of them enough to leave even the most oblivious uneasy if they had overheard them.
It was the flash of white eyes before the words faded that revealed the man to be Alastair.
"Careful, boys, we want 'her' awake soon," he said, following them into the delivery truck. As they settled the body of the old man into the truck, Alastair sat at the head of the man, looking down.
God. Trapped inside a mortal from at last. While Alastair had never truly been excited in his long existence, as it was a human concept, one could say he definitely was if it was possible. And it had been, in a way, almost two easy. Complacency. Even God could be complacent.
The trip went without incident, the drugs pumped into the body to aide unconsciousness at levels no mortal body should have been able to tolerate, but certainly effective. Alastair knew complacency, which was why even an unconscious God was still watched like a hawk. There was no telling just how quickly God's power even in the mortal form might seep through the binding ritual's barriers.
Eventually leaving the unconscious deity and Alastair in the room together, for now just shackles on a wall holding the old man, the humans and the two vampires moved to guard the door behind them, only allowing the mystics in. Once in, they began to chant lowly, as Alastair needed his attention elsewhere. Namely on his new toy.
"Time to wake up," he said cheerfully as he reached out, injecting a counter to the drugs before roughly shaking God awake.
