"It called itself the Phoenix."
The Professor had told Jean a little bit about the Phoenix. It had always disturbed her to hear Professor call it an 'it'.... like it wasn't even human, and perhaps it wasn't. After what she had found that day when she decided to 'Google' herself online, she wouldn't be surprised if it was something other than a glitch in her personality.
"She's the exact opposite of me. Morals mean nothing to her."
She was all joy, desire and rage.
Disturbing still, Jean hadn't felt so free than when she surrender to the force that was the Phoenix. She couldn't remember everything that had happened, but she had seen glimpses of what had occurred.
She'd get into that later, however.
"For years, she really didn't have an impact on my daily life. I lived my life as normally as possible, all things considered," she went on. "I went to school, I made friends, I fell in love...."
Of course, that wasn't all she did.
"I also became part of a group known as the X-Men."
