Tony nodded, "I know. It's a difficult reality for an adult to come to terms with. I can't imagine a child having to deal with it."
He had watched people die as well. He had even been responsible, in part, for at least one death. Living with that knowledge was no easy task.
He wasn't surprised in the least that there was talk of putting her in a hospital. Tony firmly believed that there was no shame in getting help. The shame was in knowing you had a problem and being too proud or too stubborn to reach out for the help you needed.
"And were they able to help you?" he asked before he had time to stop himself. "Sorry."
This was supposed to be about Jean talking and him listening. Asking questions was something he was trying not to do.
