He nodded slowly. He could trust Ruby. It had taken him a hell of a long time to figure that one out, but at this point he knew that he could. Sam didn't care what anyone else said; she had saved his ass more times than he could count. She was the one here for him now. Wiping his sleeve across his eyes, Sam sighed heavily and nodded yet again. "Okay. I trust you." Not the first time that he'd said it either. Ruby had to know by now that he meant it.
There was something important about him being drunk right now. Something very, very important. Because under normal circumstances, there were plenty of things that Sam wouldn't have done. What he did, right then and there, was certainly one of those things.
"Yeah, but first -" Not quite finishing his sentence, he leaned forward and threw a large arm around her. It was an awkward thing and terribly strange, again, coming from Sam. Especially Sam. But he was emotional and drunk. And Ruby had proven a lot to him, in that short hour, just by kicking his ass. All because he had asked her to.
Giving her a heavy clap on the back, Sam slid his hand to the side and gripped her by the shoulder, using her as a bit of a support as he attempted to rise back onto his feet again.
