Upon receiving the blow, his head yanked to the side and things instantly began to spin. Eyes closing, Sam furrowed his brow and brought a hand up to the side of his face. Sam went still for a moment, obviously processing the rough blow. His cheek stung, but there wasn't any satisfaction in what he felt. He tilted his head up and looked back toward the vampire, nodding a little.
"Good. That was good." Sam released a low laugh, rubbing at the stinging portion of his skin. Sniffing, he straightened up, hand sliding back to the ground so that his face was more than clear for a second shot. "Now do it again."
He needed this. Whether Ruby approved of it or not. Sometimes it wasn't just about beating the crap out of someone. It was about feeling pain. And right now, as far as Sam Winchester was concerned, he deserved to feel as much of it as he could get his hands on. He needed more than emotional pain. That wasn't close enough to what Sam deserved for hurting the woman that he loved.
