Drawing in a breath, he squared his shoulders and tried to do his best to mentally prep himself for what was to come. Before, when he first started out, Sam had an awful lot of trouble focusing. The smallest distraction would screw up anything that he was trying to do. He had to be at full attention, otherwise he'd never get anywhere. Now he was better. A lot better. He could get things done a lot more quickly, he could force in enough focus in times of crisis to hold his own, and he could actually walk away feeling satisfied. All of that, he knew, was because of Ruby. He really did have a lot to thank her for. That was the last thought that flickered through his mind before he pushed his way into the house, ready to vent in a way that most people would call flat out barbaric.
He was rusty. Both he and Ruby knew that. He needed a few days practice to get back to where he was again. That was why Sam wasn't going to play around. He was going to drop bodies as fast as he could.
Starting now. A vampire stumbled into the front room, looking terribly confused by the intrusion. Mouth opening in surprise, Sam instantly threw an arm back and sent him scattering into the china cabinet behind him. He knew the noise would attract the others. It would have been smarter to take the quiet approach, but Sam wasn't looking to make with a secret infiltration. He was venting. Which meant that a few scrapes and bruises here and there really weren't so much of a problem for him.
