"I'm happy when she's happy," Sam said, looking down. Didn't feel like that happened often lately. Things were stressed. He really did get that. But Sam didn't understand why Heather couldn't sit down and actually talk with him when things bothered her, just like he had told her the last time she got upset enough to let things spiral out of control. He had told her that he'd help her get through her problems, that was what a relationship was for. They had to build a support system, otherwise things were going to completely collapse. It was a little hypocritical, him saying that they needed to talk about their feelings when he was the one sneaking around, but this was more important than him going out to train with Ruby. This was their relationship. They were supposed to be getting married. He got that ever other corner of his life was practically fucked to hell, but Sam thought that this was the one thing that he'd been doing right. Lately it seemed like it was burning down just as badly as everything else.
"I'm sure that there's just something she needs to get off her chest," Sam told Ruby, looking back toward her, "whatever it is...I'll figure it out."
