Cordelia had been cleaning one of the empty rooms for most of the morning. They were filling up fast and, while she was all for making the new people who moved in clean up their own rooms, some of the items stored away in a few of them were priceless. Or dangerous. Sometimes, even both. Not to mention, there were a couple of rooms that simply weren't fit for anyone to see in the state they were in. It was one of these rooms that she'd been cleaning.
By the time the second hour of scrub the wall and floors had been concluded, she decided it was time for a break. So gathering up her bucket of cleaning supplies, she exited the room... and promptly walked directly into someone.
With an 'oomph', Cordelia stumbled backward, into the room. Her bucket of supplies crashed to the ground as her hands shot out and wrapped around the doorframe to keep herself upright. Frowning down at the mess, she sighed heavily then turned her attention to the person she'd collided with.
"You would think, in a hotel this size, I could manage to walk ten feet without walking into something," she stated with a shake of her head and a smile. "And you're new, which only makes this whole socially awkward thing even worse."
Extending her hand to him, she added, "Hi, by the way. I'm Cordelia. You are new, right? Otherwise, I'm going to feel like the worst hostess ever."
