Heather was now sitting up and straightening out her clothes, making sure her pants were up and her shirt was down. The last thing she wanted was to walk out with something still undone. She moved to slip off of the table she'd been lying on, glancing towards Sam and expecting him to already be heading for the door. However, he still remained where he stood, and in fact, he was questioning the doctor on his own.
"Usually at about sixteen weeks," Dr. Ferrer replied, collecting a few files and charts together in a single pile. "And the way everything looks now, you're in week eleven or twelve, about three months. With the advanced pregnancies I've been seeing, it's usually in the third month of the actual pregnancy that you can tell the sex. At that point, the baby's development is around the sixteen week mark." She shook her head a little. "Even I don't understand it. But that's the way it goes around here sometimes."
