"Third time's the charm?" Jack supplied helpfully. Even with the rag around his hand, Jack had lost too much blood, too quickly. His vision swam once more and that all-too familiar feeling settled into his bones. Once more, the end was coming and once more his body was being raked over the coals. Rather disconcerting to know what it felt like to have every cell in one's body die.
Jack's head lolled back on the altar, his body going limp. As far as deaths went, it had been one of the easier ones, his body knitting itself back together in the few minutes he was legally dead. Jack gasped, his body tensing, brought back to the land of the living once more with a completely fresh canvas for her to work with.
Maybe she didn't notice. Maybe.
