"It's not quite like L.A.," said Kyle. "They're both big cities with lots of different kinds of people living in them, but other than that... New York is a little more conceited." It was a whimsical way of putting it, but was the best term Kyle could think of for the sort of pretentiousness he often saw in New York. "I like L.A. better."
And that was true, and not only because of what had happened to his partner on the police force.
"Well, it is. Though I'm not exactly one of their most skilled operatives," he admitted.
