Dean looked up when he thought he heard someone calling for his Dad, but it was Peter's voice in his head a moment later that let him know what was really going on. They were back, and, what's more, they were safe. Safe...God, how had they managed that one? Ruby had said....
But it didn't matter, because he could already see his mother and Claire standing there with Peter and Noah. They were standing up, and Dean could see no blood, though he knew all too well that sometimes the wounds inflicted by demons hurt worse when you couldn't see them. Dean didn't have to look to see if his father was coming because he could hear John's footsteps racing behind him. They were safe, his Mom, Claire...and whatever bastard had dared to take them was going to pay.
Mary was grateful for Noah's steadying arm, because his arrival, and Peter's, had been startling. For one moment she was certain that somhow the demon was back, but the fear quickly faded when she saw who had just showed up. "Mary Winchester, Dean's Mom." She gave him a tired, grateful smile. "You've no idea how glad we are to see you."
