"You're remembering it right," God answered with a laugh. "And I think that's part of your gift... you know what it's like to be one of them and I hope some inkling of that stays with you. You may be young, but you almost have an advantage over my other others in that."
There was even, maybe, an advantage Eve had over her in that regard. As often as walked among her Creations, she had never actually been one of them. She had her vulnerabilities when she was in her other forms, but the powers and the overall essence of who she was remained the same.
God studied Eve for a second as she pushed her hands through her hair. "I learned to accept a long time ago that though I created them, gave them life and a home, they will never be completely happy with me. Some of the things I'm blamed for..." she trailed off, shaking her head and smiling. "Let's just say, I don't cause half the disaster --man made or natural-- that I'm blamed for. I've already started bracing myself for the barrage of angry prayer that's going to result from this if it does indeed turn sour."
She sighed. "Enough about that. How is your assignment going?"
