"There's someone in the parlour, Mistress."
"I know," Talia answered in Dzongkha. "I saw her climb in while I was out on the balcony. It was only a matter of time before someone tried."
"Should we--"
She shook her head with a sigh and pushed away from the window sill she'd been leaning on. She waved a dismissive hand and started towards the door. "Come with me, Singye. Ashi, you ready the Pits." A slight smirk slipped over her lips. "Anyone who turns to a life of crime must have some sort of lasting mental issue. And if she doesn't, well… death from the pits shows more mercy than taking a hand." And taking a hand would more than likely get blood on the carpets. It was the kind of evidence she didn't need lying around.
Talia led the way from her bedroom, her footsteps and the servants' completely silent on the carpeted hall floor. The door to the parlour was closed, as she'd left it before and there was no light eking through beneath the door jam. Talia could only assume that the darkened state of the house and the almost perfect silence of her movements along with the servants' had contributed to the thief's feeling that the house was a safe place to burgle. She'd found herself mouthing 'Catwoman' when she'd first seen the shadow slipping through the window, but had quickly remembered that this was not Gotham and that she owed the other woman a bit of respect. She didn't think that particular thief would be so stupid.
She waited a beat to open the door after pulling out a handgun. "Welcome to my home," she said, striding into the room, gun up and aimed at the intruder's head. "If you'd asked, I'd have issued an invitation."
Her servants were far stronger than they looked (they had been hand picked by Ra's, after all) and the ensuing scuffle didn't take very long at all. Talia watched and kept her hands clean as the woman was apprehended and practically frog carried from the house. In the process she learned that the thief was British and obviously had little idea or understanding of whom she was dealing with, but not much else. She took four guns from the woman and a strange looking cloth bag filled with something that felt rather lumpy. All five items were stuffed in the safe behind the painting the thief had been attempting to steal.
"Dump her in the Pit," Talia instructed, heading back out of the room. "It's obvious that someone needs a bit of cleansing.."
