Buffy supposed she understood why Faith was so against leaving the Hyperion. Faith had had her rough patches that Peter and the others had helped her through. For Buffy, not so much. A couple offers to take a vacation (that never actually panned out through no one's fault) just didn't cut it for her. That didn't equal honest to goodness support or loyalty. Buffy never felt like she belonged in the hotel, but she'd always just rode the waves and helped when needed or asked. But not anymore. Not when it seemed that everyone in and associated with the people in the hotel were turning on Slayers. That was the last straw for someone like Buffy. If the Potentials hadn't all been activated, if it was just the three of them in the city, then maybe that would make a difference. But after everything all those girls had been through, they deserved better.
"It isn't just that," she replied, shaking her head bitterly. "It's not the whole solo versus team thing. I thought it was, but that's only part of it." Buffy had to believe that Faith would know what she was getting at, seeing as how the other woman was a Slayer herself.
"Watch what you wish for," she said, arching a brow in Faith's direction. "We had an old friend roll back into town by the name of Glory, and just because she's what we're used to doesn't make it all fine and dandy." She was speaking lightly, half-joking. It was the truth, though. Then again, Glory was just a bitch.
