Even if life couldn't be normal, or at least lacking bad guys trying to kill people, there were still things that shouldn't be ignored in this place – most importantly, reasons to celebrate. Like birthdays. Even if the day of those birthdays no longer matched physical age, Claire really couldn't be bothered to care. They celebrated holidays on the day they occurred in this reality, why should they sit down and count 365 days from their last birthday to get a new birthdate? So this was, for the intents and purposes of celebrating tonight, Dean's 30th birthday and she wanted him to have an amazing one, party and family and friends and presents and all.
As the acquisition of furniture for every room of her house hadn't been done in a one-day shopping spree, there was, thankfully, still plenty of room for people to be. There was enough for seats for all to eat or sit and hang out or do whatever else, either inside or outside on the deck or in the backyard, but to hide from view for now, people were around hallway corners and inside the kitchen and dining room, leaving the living room at the front of the house to appear empty – save for the people hiding behind sofas and chairs.
Near the door, Claire peered through the window, then turned and flashed a 'shh' sign at the others, as the vehicle sounds she'd heard were Dean and Sam coming to the house. It had worked out perfectly, because she had no doubt he'd won some kind of prize at the car show with the Impala and would want to show it off to her. She just hoped he really had remained completely unsuspecting.
"Hey guys, what's up?" she asked innocently as she opened the door, then stepped back, arm behind her back. As soon as Dean was fully in the house, she'd throw up her arm as a signal for everyone to jump up or out for the traditional 'SURPRISE!' call.
