"I hope so," Peter said, his own thoughts echoing Luke's about Jacen. Peter had borne little love for the man in his earlier incarnation, but this one... after their talk, there was a familiar feeling. In an odd sort of way, they were alike. They each knew the loneliness of leadership, and understood how at times, one needed to be a monster in order to preserve what was right and good. "I hope they can reconnect with you, too. Family is important."
At Luke's shift in topic, Peter smiled brightly for a moment, before pushing back the joy that the inquiry might have brought. "No," he said, shaking his head softly. "Sarah and I... Maybe one day." There was a desperate sort of hope clinging to those words. "But not now. Not here, not like this."
