"I'm glad to be back," sincere and desperately glad, and Luke immediately felt guilty for it. After all, he had a duty, didn't he? Had he been anyone else, he might've been far less kind after Tenel Ka's scathing responses and easy dismissals, but then.. perhaps some part of him honestly did believe he deserved them. More likely, though, it was simply that he'd rather let her come to the conclusions she would. --He had changed since being brought to Los Angeles that first time, he knew. He just.. didn't know quite how.
"I'm glad they're with you," he added, expression falling into solemn lines in his youthful-looking features. "Jacen can learn a lot there. He might even rediscover his first loves." His nephew, at five, was already firmly in love with Yavin IV-- a jungle planet, it was filled with plant and animal-life, and inevitably, whenever his niece and nephews visited him, he spent days taking Jacen through the jungle and showing him new and--for the boy, at least--fascinating things.
He hoped that the adult Jacen would realise that joy again.
"I'm just.. truly glad that there is currently no temptation for him here." As if unable to help himself, he glanced back at the ruins of the club, entire form tensing for a few scant moments before he forced himself to relax again and turn away from the sight. "--Anyway." A smile returned, then, an impish look flickering into his gaze, pale eyes teasing and amused. "So, then-- should I expect another niece or nephew soon?" Peter and Nathan really were family to him, and though he didn't know Nathan's sons well, he intended to correct that. .. And then, of course, they'd be spoiled as badly as Leia's children were. One could only imagine how much worse Peter's own son or daughter would be-- after all, Luke would have (presumably) known the child from birth, so he could get started very early.
