"Maybe not," she replied, a little lighter than she thought she would have, considering the situation. "But you could've fooled me." It wasn't said with any bite to it, just a matter-of-fact sort of air.
At the mention of food, Heather had been about to glance down at her stomach and take notice of it's emptiness. However, she stopped herself just in time. It didn't carry the same meaning anymore.
