Who:Bela Talbot and Selina Kyle
What: Two thieves meet
When: Evening
Where: The Lux
status/rating: incomplete/PG13
Bela wandered into the Lux not out of necessity or desire, but because it was there, she doubted that there was anyone she knew inside, and it wasn't a Starbucks. She needed something to drink that was far stronger than caffeinated coffee and when she sat down at the bar the first thing she did was order vodka. No mixing or chasing tonight, she quite honestly just intended to get drunk in a horribly spectacular way. She finished off the first two shots handed to her quickly, and then asked for a glass of water and a glass of whiskey over ice.
She held the glass to her forehead for a moment before taking a sip. Lilith was gone and because of it she'd expected her life to suddenly improve, for everything to be easier. She was going to be able to work again, and pick up the demon contacts she'd had before without fear of them turning her over to the child demon. But without the problem of Lilith, her life's work was… pointless? Maybe not the right word, but that was how it felt. She'd gotten into the supernatural thieving business because of the deal. She'd been working to protect herself, stealing to build capital so that she had the resources to research, scheme, and buy what she needed to keep her soul.
But there was no point to that any more, and with that Bela had no idea what she was supposed to do. The work gave her a rush of pure adrenaline, that much was true, but she didn't enjoy it. She had, but in the days since Lilith's death she'd realized that she'd been telling herself that, sure, but it wasn't the truth. She'd kept it in her head to keep her morale up.
Bela brought the glass back up to her lips and let the alcohol burn down her throat.
