He shook his head. "No." That would be an absolutely useless thing for her to do. He'd panic and worry over her constantly. Sam really wasn't all that used to being away from her for so long. It was odd, knowing that. But it was true.
"It's better if you stay here," he told her, rubbing the side of his face. "I'd prefer it if you did." He was being honest about that, definitely. He just hoped that Heather, at least, was aware of that. Reaching into his pocket, he felt around for his keys and sighed. He really did want to bolt and just come back later when she was asleep. That way they wouldn't have to talk about it.
"I think...maybe I should go for a drive or something. Clear my head." He looked to her, keeping himself as neutral as possible. "You gonna be all right?"
