She nodded a little against his chest, but she said nothing. Not right away, at least. She was lost in her own thinking, drifting in and out of paying complete attention to what was going on around her and the loud, noisy thoughts inside her head.
"Listen," she began, pulling back and moving to sit on the edge of the bed, "I can stay somewhere else for a little while. At Claire's place or Jo's apartment. If you don't want to..." She trailed off, then. The thought killed her, but if Sam didn't want to deal with it all right away, if he wanted space for a while, she would do it.
All of a sudden, Ruby's words popped back up in her head, and rather than frowning, she couldn't help but scowl. "And I'm not being dramatic, either."
