Unknowingly to her, Mick had been physically effected by the blast, but not enough to destroy him on the spot and critically wound him to the point of being defeated. He'd sustained damage more critical to this and continued to fight despite the collateral effect on his body, so he could endure a little more pain for tonight. After he'd spoken to her, a sudden movement on his right had him turning to the direction of a big, blood-soaked vampire that flew in from above and landed directly above him, knocking him to the ground.
With little effort, he pushed the creature off into a wall and jumped back to his feet within a moment of a second as the blonde hunter lunged herself ahead and continued to fight. She wasn't afraid to take them head on and she'd encountered plenty of battles before to know what these monsters were like. Sight, sound, whatever they did, she knew them well and was ready to risk it all. Taking his advice, she threw out more of her hand-crafted weapons and with a surprising result, grabbed his arm and sent him with her into an alleyway.
He could've easily resisted her force, but knowing that she was keeping him from being destroyed by the blast that would kill all surrounding vampires, Mick let her take lead and direct him into safety. They hadn't gotten far from the wall of fire and even though they would survive, the blast hurt and surprisingly even the woman he was with. Once the blaze subsided, the only noise in the city were car sirens blaring, but the vampires were gone. "That was impressive," he smiled with a friendly gesture.
