Who: Tenel Ka Djo and Jacen Solo What: Hunting for Ben Braden when things go wrong Where: Various parts of the city When: 11th January - Early Evening Rating: Non too high Status: Log Complete
Tenel Ka was dressed to fight, Earths best replica for Dathomiri armour and leathers she wasn't taking any chances, if they found the boy and needed to fight then fight they would. Her rancor tooth hilted lightsaber rested at her side as did two daggers, a third in her boot. She paced the lobby waiting for Jacen. A child, someone had kidnapped a child, she wondered was this connected to the other children who were sick.
And Jack was missing too and others besides, something felt wrong in the Force, like something was about to change greatly. She hoped for the better.
She was all business as she waited as she knew Jacen would be too, because nothing grated on either more than a child in danger. Sith and Jedi, former lovers, it didn't matter right now.
All that mattered was finding the boy.
So Tenel Ka wanted him to be more involved in the city. And this seemed as good a place as any to start. Someone had attacked a child. A child. Jacen inwardly seethed at the concept. He was dressed as she was, ready for a conflict, his red lightsaber clipped to his belt.
"Are you ready to go?"
This was not a time for pleasentries as he entered the lobby to join her.
Tenel Ka nodded just once "Of course"
That look in his eyes was all she needed to see to know how much this infuriated him, But then it had all been for Allana and children like her, everything he had done. Because he didn't want them to grow up with the galaxy in the state it was.
"Faith told me where to start looking, we would cover more ground if we seperated but stayed...connected. Unless that would be too strange to you now...with me I mean" she asked, already moving toward the door, there was no time to waste.
Jacen fell into step with her, his expression grim.
"My comfort levels are not relevant right now. What matters is finding the boy."
He nodded firmly before focusing his mind for a brief moment and allowing his presence in the Force to be felt.
"We can remain connected, while we're hunting."
"Good hunting" she told him as they came to the end of the street, Faith had given her a couple of relevent areas, Jacen could just take them from her mind quite easily, she wasn't resisting him.
She took his hand in hers just for a moment and squeezed it. "May the Force be with you"
She turned, breaking into, not quite a run but a fast stride, They had a lot of area to cover.
"And with you," Jacen replied before she left and he took a moment to focus.
It took a lot of willpower to resist the urge to hide himself in the Force again as he headed out in the direction Tenel Ka had offered him.
Children, whoever this was, they were targeting children.
They would die.
Tenel Ka could feel the resolve, the determanation and yes, the darkness that was Jacen Solo. It was so strange feeling him in her mind, seductive, dangerous and yet...comforting such mixed feeling all at once though he had no right to make her feel that way. None. Though if she were honest, she suspected he wasn't doing it on purpose that just his being there was drawing her in all over again....
She shook her head, he'd know her thoughts, The Myrkr battle meld still gave them a closer link than most Jedi could share, with the exception of former Joiners like Jaina and Zekk. But unlike Jaina and Zekk, Jacen was her one love. He always had been, and that made it harder.
Still the Hapan Queen Mother could focus when she needed to and she needed to now. She needed to help in the search for the boy. Ben. She couldn't help but wonder if the boy's name was what had made Jacen so adament in searching or if it was just a coincidence, but the name brought back its memories of the boy, so old before his time. A soilder at fourteen.
In spite of the thoughts Tenel Ka spent some time searching, checking in with Jacen mentally every few minutes as they had arranged, but there was no sign of the boy, nothing. It had taken her twenty minutes to search the park to a satisfactory degree before she was happy there had been no sign of a scuffle or way for them to have come through here, no impressions in the Force, in fact the Force was...oh it was there but...
She shook her head and looked up as if to swat away an annoying insect and found none. Instead Tenel Ka reached for her neck as a dart, a very simple poison dart had found its way to her...
Why had her danger sense not alerted her...
Jacen...
The sending was harder than it should have been. Her single arm reached out to the wall but the Jedi stumbled before she reached it, sliding down to the floor ungracefully. She tried to locate the poison in her, running through the Neutralising Techniques she knew but it was so hard, all she wanted to do was sleep
Jacen... she tried again. He had to hear her. He just had to.
